Teach the Need is a non-profit organization born from the passion of high school friends who recognized the need for accessible tutoring in Toronto. Established in 2017, we began by volunteering at local libraries and quickly identified the significant challenges students faced in obtaining timely, affordable tutoring services. Our mission is to democratize access to educational support, particularly for those who encounter socioeconomic barriers.
Utilizing a virtual platform, Teach the Need has thrived, allowing parents to eliminate the need for travel while ensuring that students receive the assistance they need, regardless of their location. The COVID-19 pandemic amplified our role as we adapted to virtual tutoring, ensuring continuity in education while adhering to safety protocols. Through a dedicated team of volunteers, we remain devoted to making quality education free and accessible to as many students as possible.
